Case Study:

Library Translator

A public library network was paying translators to localise its catalogue by hand. We built an automation that ingests new entries, translates them in-house, and pushes them live.

Library Translator

Case Overview

The team was spending a small fortune translating catalogue entries one by one. New titles sat untranslated for weeks while the backlog grew. We connected their catalogue to an in-house translation pipeline that runs the moment a new entry lands — no manual step in between.

  • €1.2M saved per year in translation costs
  • New titles localised the same day they arrive
  • Zero manual copy-paste between systems

How We Built It

We started by mapping how a title moves from acquisition to the public catalogue, then replaced every manual handoff with an automated step.

  1. Connect the catalogue feed so new entries trigger the pipeline automatically
  2. Translate each field in-house with a glossary tuned to the library's own terminology
  3. Publish straight back to the live catalogue, with a human spot-check only on low-confidence cases

The result is a catalogue that localises itself — staff step in for the rare edge case instead of every single entry.
